The Ideal In-person Meet Ups for Long Distance Lovers

Imagine this. After driving for miles, you finally get to see your partner. You decide to go to the cinema. You’ve picked a good movie to watch. You’ve got the popcorn. The lights start to dim and you spend the next hour or so in silence.

You may be lucky enough to get a whole weekend with each other, or maybe just a few hours, however long you are planning to visit with your long distance partner, choosing a date where both of you are silent for the entire time is NOT a great idea.

Instead try to pick some ideas that will get you chatting, touching and bonding. If you open your mind and really think hard about it, I’m certain you can think of some wonderful ideas that both of you will appreciate. But just incase you are unable to, here are a couple of my favourites.

Star Gazing

Get in your truck/ car and drive out 20 minutes away from the bright lights. Take a blanket and some warm cocoa.. For the real astronomers, there is an iphone application called "Star Walk" where you can track the constellations and stars. This is a great opportunity to talk, share stories and bond with your partner.

Ice Skating

You don’t have to be an expert figure skater or a pro-hockey player to have a fun ice skating date. In fact, you don’t even have to be any good at ice skating at all. As you skate around you will find yourself grabbing your companions hands. If it's your first time then you may find that you fall a lot. But even the pros fall now and then. Gents, never forget to give your lover a hand while she is getting up. And Ladies, please don't chuckle too much when he falls. This date can get quite physical and pretty soon you’ll be pretending to trip over just so that you can grab onto them.

Restaurant

It doesn’t always have to be at a fancy restaurant. Sometimes your companion will really appreciate you cooking food for them. No matter where you pick to have a dinner date, nothing is better than eating by candle lights and flowers on the table. And men, let me give you some guidance. A girl just loves it when you cook a nice meal for them. Pasta is best for me. Just remember spaghetti isn’t just for a couple of animated dogs to enjoy.

Aquarium

This is an excellent date idea if you have a local aquarium in your city or town. Chances are during the morning hours it will be fairly quiet and it will offer some awe-inspiring sights of penguins swimming through the waters. You could sit all day and chat with each other, learning about the animals, and also learning about one another.
